Dr. Shumack graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school, Dr. Shumack was part of a whelping and neonatal care team and was president of the Society for Theriogenology (reproduction) club. In her clinical year at Auburn, Dr. Shumack received the Clinical proficiency in Theriogenology award. Dr. Shumack wrote multiple reproductive case studies and competed in case presentations throughout veterinary school. Dr. Shumack enjoys general practice medicine with an emphasis in reproduction and surgery, she is currently pursuing a specialization in reproduction.
Dr. Shumack is currently a member of the Colorado Springs Kennel Club and Sporting Dog Club of Colorado Springs. She has 4 dogs and 2 cats total, and is constantly talking herself in and out of getting another dog. Three of those dogs are Dachshunds, but she also has an English Setter named Renegade that she shows in conformation. Dr. Shumack and her husband are loving life in Colorado, they enjoy hiking and being outdoors.
